Yehudi was birthed around 1995 out of the grouping of certain members of the worship team at a local Atlanta Messianic Jewish Congregation. This musical ensemble found ourselves frequently scheduled to do the music for Shabbat services and we found that God really blessed us whenever we played together. We found that there was a real flow of the music, our voices and styles complimented each other and best of all, and the Lord truly gave us a special anointing. We began to choose to worship together and felt that the Lord wanted us to formalize the group. After much discussion we came up with the name Yehudi and sometimes jokingly call ourselves Yehudi and the Gefilte Fish. The group was comprised of two married couples: Bob & Lynne Albertson and Bruce & Connie Rosenthal, and keyboardist Daniel Collins.
The Lord has blessed us by allowing us to minister in multiple venues including numerous Messianic conferences and concerts all over the USA and abroad. We have been the opening group many times for such Messianic legends as Paul Wilbur, Joel Chernoff, Nagila and Marty Goetz. Our greatest joy was ministering at a Messianic Festival in Rosario Argentina where hundreds of Jews and Gentiles came to know their Messiah Yeshua. Additionally, pride in being Jewish was restored through Yehudi's joyful Messianic Music to thousands of Diaspora Jews who fled Nazi persecution during World War II. We were really blessed when we ministered at an orphanage in Rosario and joined the children in praising Yeshua. They blessed us as much or more than we blessed them. It was an incredible experience!
Adonai miraculously blessed us during the Feast of Tabernacles, Sukkot,
when He orchestrated an opportunity for Yehudi to record a live worship
service at Congregation Beth Hallel. Some cuts were recorded before services
with only a couple of bars of music heard before recording began. This raw,
live recording contains our human frailty, but most importantly, it truly
shows how powerful the Lord's anointing is when we yield ourselves to Him
for His use.
Although we didn't have a "plan", God did. He is bringing forth
His music and His message through five humble servants - and we are ever
grateful for His anointing!
